A new study led by scientists at the University of Cambridge has shown that induced neural stem cell (iNSC) grafts can successfully generate myelin-producing cells in mice with lesions similar to those seen in progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). The research, published in the journal Brain, marks the first time that stem cell grafts have been shown to directly replace lost oligodendrocytes to promote remyelination in the central nervous system (CNS).
