April 8: Jana Stoudemire, Director of Commercial Innovation at Space Tango:
“The Best Kept Secret on the International Space Station”
April 15: Adrienne Shapiro, co-founder of Axis Advocacy:
“A Mother’s Mission to End Sickle Cell Disease”
April 22: Aubrey de Grey, Chief Science Officer, SENS Research Foundation:
“Ending Aging in 20 Years with Stem Cell Treatments”
April 29: Nicole Gularte, one of the first CAR T-cell patients:
“This Young Woman Beat Cancer 8 Times”
Kira Peikoff, editor of leapsmag said, “I am thrilled to provide our viewers an inside look at some unprecedented biomedical experiments happening now in labs and medical centers around the world, and above the earth on the International Space Station. These are great stories about a patient defying incurable cancer; families afflicted with sickle cell disease finding hope for a cure through stem cells; the shocking possibility that extinct animals might roam the earth again; and the perils of old age soon becoming a distant memory.”
According to Bernard Siegel, executive director of Regenerative Medicine Foundation and creator of the World Stem Cell Summit, “RMF is proud to partner with leapsmag in this new video series that illustrates how stem cell research will profoundly impact life on earth–solving extinction, extending the healthy human lifespan and utilizing microgravity to understand developmental biology. Included are patient stories at the intersection of hope and breakthrough science.”
