He is accountable for harmonizing corporate strategy, translational research efforts, and clinical unmet needs into a clinical plan that leads to best-in-class biologic. It includes predictive, prognostic and diagnostic tests incorporating physician, regulatory and payer stakeholder requirements. He works with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and principal investigators to create a clinical study strategy. He has a solid working knowledge of FDA regulations, good clinical practices, clinical drug development, FDA compliance requirements and has submitted IND’s both domestically and abroad in support of clinical trials. He has been a visiting scholar at International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur, presenting research to PhD students and post-docs.
Shortly after Dr. Hubka’s wife founded ilus art (2012), she enlisted Mark to help her in her educational lectures teaching children about the science-behind-the-art. While Janet could give the presentation herself, the pair have a unique style working together to elucidate the stories behind the science and the importance of stem cell research in understanding how the body regenerates after injury or disease. Their passion for education and reaching children to inspire lifelong learning in STEAM, makes their presentation: “Taking Art to the Cellular Level” an exciting and groundbreaking experience for students and teachers alike. As Chief Operations Officer at ilus art, assists in designing and implementing business strategies, plans and procedures; assisting with setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth; assisting with daily operations and in fundraising efforts, managing relationships with partners/vendors and participating in expansion activities. Because much of their efforts are around student education and putting art back into schools, ilus art is also looking to form a 501c3 not-for-profit to help fund this scientific art placement in schools to which they present.
