Gina Dunne Smith manages and directs the International Institute for the Advancement of Medicine (IIAM), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 and AATB accredited organization. Her responsibilities include all donor and client services related business. IIAM partners with all 58 organ procurement organizations and supports over 100 active research studies at any given time in the placement of non-transplantable organs and tissues for medical research, education and therapy.
Ms. Dunne Smith has been involved in the field of organ and tissue donation since 1988 where she began her career with the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) spending 5 years as a Senior Organ Placement Specialist. She joined IIAM in 1993 as a Partner Relationship Manager and has spent the years maintaining and growing a network of procurement and research professionals to further the gift of donation through medical research. Ms. Dunne Smith has served on the NATCO Board of Directors continues to be a support to industry organizations including NATCO, AOPO and AATB. She has authored several posters and articles and has been a professional presenter on the subject of medical research donation throughout her career. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and two daughters.
