a Subsidiary of BioBridge Global
San Antonio, TX
Becky Butler Cap is chief operating officer of GenCure, a subsidiary of BioBridge Global that is focused on regenerative medicine. Cap has been involved in the life sciences community for more than 20 years. She’s spent most of her career specializing in product commercialization strategy and life-cycle management for products in the oncology, autoimmune diseases, endocrine and rare diseases market space.
Cap received her AB (cum laude) from Harvard University and was a scholarship recipient to Boston University’s Health Care Management Program, where she received her MBA. She began her career at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where she gained clinical, laboratory and regulatory experience. While pursuing her MBA, she moved to industry and worked for Eidetics, a consulting firm focused on informing biomedical product development. Her background in complex clinical categories and niche markets translates well to the work of BioBridge Global. Cap is committed to the mission of the organization – to save and enhance lives through the healing power of human cells — and plans to further maximize the impact for patients in South Texas and around the world from each generous donor.
A Texas native, Cap is deeply engaged in the life sciences and technology entrepreneurship communities of San Antonio. She has worked with a number of local startups and invested in mentoring and developing student entrepreneurship programs through both the University of Texas – San Antonio’s Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE) $100K Competition and the National Science Foundation’s iCorps program. She mentored the first UTSA team to participate in that program. Cap founded with her board of directors a new 501(c)6 organization, San Antonio TechBoosters, which mentors student entrepreneurs and supports corporate formation, management team and advisor recruitment. She currently chairs that organization.
