Getting to Madison, WisconsinSpecial Travel Tips Section! Flying directly into Madison is often the most convenient option for travelers. The Dane County Regional Airport, is located only 15 minutes from the UW-Madison campus, only 20 minutes from the Alliant Energy Center. Frequent visitors to Madison have also found economical ways to get in and out by flying to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, 120 miles southeast of Madison, and Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport, 80 miles east of Madison. The drive from Chicago takes up to 3 hours one way. The drive from Milwaukee takes up to 1 and 1/2 hours. The Rockford International Airport, just 60 miles south of Madison, receives direct flights from Las Vegas, Phoenix, Detroit, Denver, Cancun and several Florida cities via Allegiant Air. All airports have car rentals. Don't forget to bring along up to $4.20 in cash if you fly into O'Hare or Rockford, as you'll be using the Illinois Tollway. Consider taxi or limo service to Madison. Contact airports for services and rates. Sharing a limo ride with several others can be affordable and is the ultimate way to arrive in style for the summit! Van Galder Bus, offers air-conditioned, comfortable (reclining seats, footrests, lavatory) bus service from O'Hare Airport to Memorial Union on the UW-Madison campus. Print the O'Hare to Madison daily schedule and pay on the bus, or purchase tickets on line before you go. The three-hour, one-way trip is $27 ($54 round-trip).
